There is a herd of deer in Kings Forest where I live, that like to spend summer days eating my lawn and lounging under the juniper trees. It's amazing to watch the fawns grow up.

I love working on smaller paintings like this. I can still add lots of detail, but in an almost impressionistic style that is still quite realistic.



 The underpainting is completed quite quickly in fast, broad strokes.
